Software Engineering Manager - Cardiff, United Kingdom

One of the UK’s leading providers of critical national infrastructure is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to be based in its Cardiff office.

The Software Engineering Manager will oversee the design and development of software applications and integrations, working closely with Solution Managers and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet requirements and are effectively deployed.

The role involves strategic planning, continuous improvement, and fostering a collaborative, efficient team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and organizational leadership to the software engineering team.
• Oversee application and embedded software development through code and design reviews.
• Ensure compliance with regulated processes and best practices.
• Mentor, recruit, and develop staff, promoting ongoing training and skill enhancement.
• Manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business outcomes.
• Collaborate with IT and business partners on strategic planning.
• Define and implement continuous improvement initiatives to maximize investment value.

Skills

• Experience with VB.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server, IIS, MSMQ.
