A leading company in water and waste management seeks a Governance & Assurance Lead to oversee compliance and regulatory reporting. This role involves collaboration with regulators, data analysis, and process improvements to ensure high standards in wastewater management.

Location: Base anywhere within South Coast, with bi-weekly visits to our head office in Durrington; remaining work from home on a hybrid basis.
Hours: 37 hours per week

Are you passionate about governance, assurance, and regulatory reporting? Join Southern Water, a leader in water and waste management, as a Wastewater Governance & Assurance Lead. Collaborate with the Wastewater Governance & Assurance Manager to ensure first-line assurance within the Wastewater directorate, developing and maintaining control systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Focus on excellence in regulatory wastewater reporting.
In this role, you will work closely with regulators during EA Alignment review meetings, analysing data, reconciling information, and providing performance reports including pollution forecasting and analysis. Your work will help diagnose operational faults, recommend modifications, and ensure compliance, supporting the reduction of wastewater compliance failures and pollution incidents.
You will also provide first-line assurance for wastewater regulatory reports, facilitate assurance for commitments such as pollution, flooding, and spill reporting, and liaise with internal teams to ensure compliance. Your responsibilities include responding to data requests, supporting assurance activities, and driving process improvements within the Wastewater Directorate.
To succeed, you should have knowledge of wastewater operations and environmental risks, strong analytical skills, and experience in writing technical reports to regulatory standards.
