Job description

Associate Structural Engineer

£60-£75k
London W14

A Chartered Structural Engineer at a senior level is sought to join this award-winning structural consultancy at their offices based in South West London. You will play a key role in managing and developing projects, working alongside the Directors. Your responsibilities include leading a team of engineers and technicians, and managing projects and clients.

The practice is well-established and expanding due to increasing workload. The firm primarily works in the high-end residential sector, including new builds and refurbishments, often involving bespoke projects with basement design and multi-storey schemes. Other projects include commercial schemes such as schools, data centres, public sector projects, vertical extensions, re-cladding work, and temporary works design solutions. Project values typically range from £150,000 to £10m.

This is an exciting growth phase for the firm. The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Engineer with experience across various building schemes, demonstrating technical excellence, especially in residential buildings. Temporary works design experience is preferred. Your role will involve leading projects and design teams, mentoring graduates, and being commercially astute.

Your duties include hands-on design at the concept level, conducting surveys and reports, and involvement in financial aspects such as invoicing, pricing, and managing projects from inception to completion. The company offers a financially sound environment, providing responsibility and progression opportunities.

The office boasts a modern work environment with a flexible, social team. Benefits include free tea, coffee, fruit, and bread daily, healthcare, discounted gym membership, pension, 25 days holiday, and monthly socials.
