About the role

This senior-level position is ideal for someone with a minimum of 20 years' experience in consumer PR, either from a PR agency or a brand, and a proven track record of developing teams, driving careers, and winning significant new business.

This full-time position is based in our Belfast city centre office, with a requirement to be on-site five days per week.

Key responsibilities include:

• Team leadership: Lead a team of 11, oversee their professional development and guide their career progression.
• Group delivery: work with the leaders of our Group companies – Neighbourgood, soda. and Allies – to ensure alignment across business lines.
• Client delivery: Ensure all agency output consistently exceeds expectations and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Company culture: Uphold and promote Clearbox’s values and behaviours across all levels of the organisation.
• Business development: Oversee new business, including identifying opportunities, leading pitches, and developing proposals. The MD will take a hands-on role in writing new business decks and coaching the team during pitches.
• Financial oversight: Ensure Clearbox maintains a strong financial standing, with responsibilities including working with the Office Manager to oversee cash flow management, reviewing financial performance, and overseeing payroll, supplier payments, and receivables. A bookkeeper and accountants manage detailed financial tasks.
• Employee benefits: Monitor industry standards and competitor offerings to ensure our benefits package remains top tier.
• Human Resources: Work alongside the Office Manager to oversee HR processes, including monthly and quarterly performance reviews, tracking career pathways, and managing training budgets.
• Recruitment: Work alongside the Office Manager to oversee the recruitment process, including the annual graduate programme, partnerships with Ulster University, and hiring efforts aligned with business growth.
• International Relations: Manage the partnership with Clearbox’s sister company, Laika, in Berlin. This includes organising exchange trips for employees between Belfast and Berlin.
