King's College London is seeking a Project Manager for the Gene Therapy Vector Facility. The King's College London Gene Therapy Vector Facility (GTVF) provides comprehensive GMP-grade viral vector manufacturing services. This includes Lentiviral Vector (LV), Retroviral Vector (RV), and Adeno-Associated Viral Vector (AAV) production for early-phase clinical trials, alongside programmes in process innovation, knowledge transfer, and training to address critical skills shortages.
The GTVF is run by a large, industry-leading team of over 50 people with extensive experience in delivering end-to-end viral vector manufacture for academic and commercial clients, focusing on early-stage clinical trials.
The Project Manager for the GTVF group at King's College London (covering facilities at Guys and St Thomas, Kings College London, and Kings College Hospital) will lead internal and external projects. The GTVF is part of Core Research Platforms within the university's Research Management & Innovation Directorate (RMID). The post holder will collaborate closely with colleagues in this section and other professional services directorates as needed.
This role reports to the Associate Director Commercial and works closely with the GTVF Management Team, including the Operations Director, Quality Director, Technical Director, and Heads of Production, Analytics, QA, QC, Process Development, MSAT, and Business Development.
The Project Manager will oversee assigned projects, which may include client or internal initiatives, working with colleagues across GTVF and leading a multidisciplinary team under the guidance of the Operations and Associate Directors. The role involves developing project management plans, monitoring progress, coordinating updates, chairing meetings, and documenting actions.
The candidate must have proven experience or professional knowledge in manufacturing or testing biological products, capable of understanding and communicating complex information clearly, supporting project decisions and stakeholder understanding.
This is a unique role contributing to delivering advanced therapies and supporting the success of the Advanced Therapies cluster.
This is a full-time (35 hours/week) indefinite contract.
