Commercial Manager Role

Are you an experienced Commercial Manager with a background in Marine heavy civils or infrastructure? This is a great opportunity to join a respected main contractor and take commercial ownership.

The Company:
Our client is a well-established Civil Engineering Main Contractor with an excellent reputation in the Marine sector. As part of a larger group, they benefit from strong financial backing, access to shared resources, and long-term security. With a flat reporting structure, decisions are made quickly and efficiently ensuring a dynamic and collaborative working environment.

The Role:
You ll be the lead Commercial Manager, responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team, you ll ensure commercial control, cost efficiency, and risk management throughout the lifecycle of the scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage commercial delivery of multiple projects from start to finish
• Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, and cost control
• Prepare and manage CVRs, forecasts, valuations, and payments
• Lead contract administration and ensure compliance with NEC or JCT forms
• Provide commercial advice to the project team and senior management
• Manage risk, identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to maintain strong relationships
• Support final accounts and dispute resolution as needed

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior QS on Civil Engineering projects, ideally with marine or infrastructure elements
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial processes
• Confident in leading commercial activities on complex, high-value schemes
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders
