Job summary

To be eligible to apply for the ARRS GP role, candidates must:

  • Must not have been substantively employed as a GP in general practice previously; or
  • Not be employed in a temporary capacity as a locum; and/or
  • Be less than 2 years beyond their certificate of completion of training issued by the GMC upon employment commencement.

The post-holder will manage a caseload and address a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring high standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

Working Arrangements

We offer 26.6 hours over 3 days, with a reduced workload in line with NHS financial restrictions. On-calls and home visits are not typically required. Sessions will consist of 10x15 minute appointments, plus additional admin work as needed.

You will be required to work flexibly across PCN GP practices and potentially across the Wakefield District. Applicants should hold a valid UK driving licence and relevant car insurance or have alternative means of transport, with reasonable expenses payable.

Main duties of the job

In accordance with the PCN/General Practice timetable, the post-holder will undertake duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, home visits, checking and signing prescriptions, and managing queries, paperwork, reports, and correspondence promptly.
