Trainee E-FX Application Support Engineer

Job Description:

Societe Generale, a leading European financial services group with over 160 years of history, is seeking a Trainee E-FX Application Support Engineer to support electronic activities of the FX Trading desks, focusing on emerging spot FX and NDF markets in London.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide 1st Line support for electronic trading applications including pricing engines, auto-hedgers, and monitoring tools, resolving common queries independently.
2. Maintain and improve testing environments and CI/CD platforms.
3. Manage procedures related to software releases to production.
4. Participate in daily calls with developers and traders to stay updated on production issues.
5. Maintain comprehensive application documentation.

Profile Required:

Technical Skills:

• Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
• Experience with programming, scripting, and process automation (Python and PowerShell are advantageous).
• Understanding of networking concepts.
• Knowledge of CI/CD platforms, relational databases, and distributed systems is a plus.
• Degree in computer science or related field, with a minimum 2:1 classification.

Functional Knowledge:

• No financial knowledge required, but some understanding of FX markets is a plus.

Languages:

• Fluent English (spoken and written) mandatory.
• French language skills are a plus.
