Job description

We have a great opportunity for a Process Technician to join our Didcot Sewage Treatment team. No prior experience in the Water industry is required, as we welcome applications from candidates outside the sector, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas.

You will be part of the frontline operations team covering sewage treatment sites. This essential front-line role is vital for our operations, working in all weather conditions and carrying out various tasks to ensure our wastewater treatment works function effectively, maintaining supply and protecting the environment. Responsibilities include maintenance of equipment to support plant operations.

What you’ll be doing as the Process Technician
  1. Carrying out scheduled maintenance on plant and equipment to improve resilience.
  2. Operating and cleaning plant and equipment to meet operational and safety standards.
  3. Responding to reactive jobs following equipment failure.
  4. Maintaining site cleanliness, safety, and security checks.
  5. Working safely in accordance with all health and safety procedures.

Base Location: Didcot STW - OX11 7AW

Working Pattern: 38 hours, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, with standby and overtime opportunities for additional pay.

  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a team player committed to shared goals.
  • Be proactive in suggesting improvements and communicating effectively.
  • Be willing to undergo safety training.
  • Have knowledge of health and safety standards.
  • Hold a full UK driver’s license.
