Job description

Job Title: Sports Coach / Graduate

The Education Network is a leading supply teaching agency currently recruiting Sports Coaches / Graduates for various schools in Durham.

Due to high demand, we aim to expand our pool of Sports Coaches/Graduates to work in secondary schools on both a daily and long-term basis. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in different schools, enhancing their teaching experience.

Minimum Requirements

1. At least 6 months experience working with students aged 11-18.
2. Enthusiastic and passionate about education.
3. Possess at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

1. Supervise classes in the absence of the permanent teacher, including introducing and closing the lesson, following instructions from senior staff.
2. Complete class registers.
3. Maintain constructive classroom management and promote a positive learning environment.
4. Display enthusiasm, confidence, and the ability to work independently.
5. Ensure students stay on task and complete their work, minimizing distractions.
6. Assist students with questions and provide appropriate responses.
7. Follow lesson outlines and collect completed work and resources.
8. Adhere to school policies and procedures, responding effectively to emergencies.
9. Provide feedback to the class teacher regarding student progress and behavior.
