Position Purpose

Project Managers (PMs) play a leading role in planning, developing, executing, monitoring, and delivering projects. They are responsible for the entire project scope, budget, team, and resources, ensuring the successful completion of each project. The core goals are to achieve “Happy Client, Happy Team, At a Profit”.

Responsibilities

PMs typically spend about 85% of their time managing active projects or bidding, 10% contributing to organizational and departmental improvements, and 5% on continuing education. They may travel approximately 30% of their time to support project delivery.

  • Successful delivery of project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Ensuring the client’s vision is maintained throughout the project lifecycle
  • Sustaining client and customer satisfaction, often exceeding expectations
  • Effective communication of project status and progress
  • Managing final deliverables to ensure TAIT quality standards
  • Coordinating engineering, manufacturing, operational, and support disciplines
  • Monitoring risks and managing delays

  • Translating client needs into TAIT language
  • Participating in project proposals and quotes
  • Developing creative and technical solutions
  • Estimating costs and contingencies
  • Establishing pricing and payment schedules

  • Understanding project commercial terms and contractual relationships
  • Acting as a client advocate and ensuring high levels of customer service
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Ensuring TAIT’s responsibilities are fulfilled and client duties are executed properly

  • Planning cash flow according to proposals and contracts
  • Managing payments and invoicing

Position Requirements

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Proven track record managing profitable projects
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Experience with commercial and contractual responsibilities
  • Cost estimation and control skills
  • Risk management experience
  • Familiarity with Slack
  • Ability to work within a matrixed organization
  • HS Diploma/GED plus relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus experience
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong software knowledge including Microsoft Office, project scheduling tools, budgeting tools, ERP, CRM, and content management systems
  • Understanding of manufacturing or fabrication processes
  • Availability to work in-office Monday-Friday with up to 30% travel
