About The Role

Face to Face Social Market Research Interviewer – Mobile, with travel up to 30 miles


Have you ever wondered where statistics like “36% of Britons think the government should reduce income tax” come from?


As a Social Market Research Interviewer, you will be interviewing members of the public, mostly in their homes. You will be provided a device to ask for their opinions on a wide range of subjects, and record their responses. We work on behalf of various clients, from government bodies to public sector organizations. The results of your data gathering will support improvements in public services, shape governmental & corporate policies, and influence public policy across the UK.


We regularly recruit throughout the UK. If you are over 18, personable & confident when meeting new people, have a vehicle & a valid UK driving license, and want to earn money while impacting public policy, then this is the role for you!


Pay & Benefits:

  • £15.12* per hour (£13.50 per hour + £1.62 holiday pay) outside London, a £500 joiner bonus**, plus travel expenses, with opportunities to earn more as your experience grows.
  • £18.15* per hour (£16.20 per hour + £1.95 holiday pay) when residing within the M25 in London, a £500 joiner bonus**, plus travel expenses, and potential for increased earnings with experience.

You will engage with a diverse range of people daily. Building rapport and encouraging participation are key aspects of the role.


Some assignments will be local; others may require travel up to 30 miles or more. We provide comprehensive fully-paid training to prepare you for success; our dedicated team supports you in-person on your first day and remains available throughout your tenure.


Payment Structure:

  • Initially paid by the hour. After probation, payment shifts to results-based, rewarding successful interviews with additional bonuses and incentives.
  • New joiner Bonus is paid when transitioning to payment by results, typically at 12 weeks.

Job Opportunity

This flexible customer service and market research role allows you some control over your schedule, requiring a commitment of at least 16-20 hours per week, mainly in afternoons, evenings, and weekends, when research participation is most successful. You can tailor your hours around other commitments such as childcare or other jobs.


You will visit people's homes to secure participation, with training provided to enhance your effectiveness. Engagement is facilitated by pre-communication with participants and scheduling appointments that suit both parties. Participants may receive incentives for their involvement.


You will be assigned a large geographical area, with travel up to 30 miles or more. Mileage costs are reimbursed. Access to a car or another vehicle is generally required, especially for roles in London, where alternative transportation options are available.

Essential Skills
