Note: Role consists of working between Billingham Grange Independent Hospital (in Billingham) and Hawthorns Care Centre (in Peterlee)

About the Role

As a Clinical Psychologist at a Barchester independent mental health hospital, you'll provide a specialist psychology service to help us deliver quality care and support to our patients. You'll work with patients experiencing emotional stress, depression, anxiety, OCD, phobias, psychosis, and other conditions. Your responsibilities include selecting, administering, and interpreting psychometric and neuropsychological tests, as well as liaising with referrers, GPs, and other professionals to develop and review care and risk management plans. You'll create a safe and supportive environment for our patients to receive the best possible care.

About You

You should have up-to-date knowledge of current developments in professional and clinical practice, and be well-versed in relevant legislation and policies. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you'll deliver complex and sensitive information and conduct psychological interventions with carers or families when appropriate. You should also maintain accurate records and supervise other multidisciplinary staff when needed. A dedicated and insightful professional, you will be focused on our patients' wellbeing.
