We are looking for someone to join our team on an 11-month secondment as an Enterprise & Resilience Risk Steward

The role holder is responsible for overseeing the application of the banks risk management framework within the Retail and Wholesale UK Ring-Fenced Bank (UKRFB) to ensure the effective identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring of non-financial risks and ensure resilience risks are managed within appetite. This role will involve close collaboration with senior management and various departments and will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the banks risk management culture.

In this role you will:


-Provides advice, guidance and challenge to 1LOD across the management of Resilience risks within WPB and CMB, UK RFB completing review and challenge on relevant risks, controls, issues and events as required.
-Provide advice, guidance and challenge to 1LOD in respect of their adoption of the Risk Management Framework and the identification, assessment and management of risks in line with that framework ensuring that any risks which are not within appetite are remediated sustainably.
-Support with inputs to relevant operational risk reporting e.g. risk map, risk appetite, emerging risk etc.
-Prepare and present, where required, regular risk reporting papers / presentations utilising risk management data as applicable.
-Where required support with completion of thematic reviews into concern areas across resilience risks within WPB and CMB, UK RFB.


To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

-In depth knowledge and experience of implementing and managing non-financial risk frameworks preferably in a large financial organisation.
-Deep and proven SME knowledge within one or more resilience risk areas (technology, cyber, data, third party, transaction processing, building unavailability).
-Strong communication skills to articulate complex risk concepts clearly to stakeholders and senior management, fostering understanding and support.
-Critical thinking and analytical skills to analyse complex risk data, trends, and scenarios and make data-driven decisions.
-Demonstrate analytical and process orientated experience; have good negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to provide direction to 1LOD and Business stakeholders to ensure they fulfil the requirements to manage Resilience Risk within appetite.


This role is based in Birmingham or Sheffield on a Hybrid basis.
