Job Summary

Assisting trained nurses and other healthcare professionals in delivering high standards of patient care, with sensitivity to patient needs. To be a member of the practice-based nursing team, supervised at all times by nursing or medical staff, working within your capabilities and job description.

Main Duties

1. Assist practice nurses in patient care, ensuring patient safety and well-being at all times.
2. Communicate courteously and effectively with patients, relatives, and carers.
3. Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the Practice Treatment Room.
4. Carry out health assessments on newly registered patients or specific patient groups.
5. Report any matters concerning patient care, changes in condition, or circumstances to relevant team members, keeping proper records.
6. Undertake phlebotomy once trained, as directed by Practice Nurses.
7. Respect confidentiality and handle sensitive issues appropriately.
8. Record and document all patient contacts accurately.
