- Barclays is developing a bank-wide customer data architecture strategy, including:
- Approach to mastering customer data
- Development of data model for managing individuals/organisations with a relationship to the bank
- Designing a perpetual CDD data approach for Financial Crime
- Defining new insight-driven propositions for the Digital Channel
- Developing an event-driven approach for data interactions across digital, assisted, and customer servicing channels
- Directing financial crime / CDD programmes towards a unified customer architecture
Business area CIO and CDAOs are developing business requirements that imply changes to customer master and onboarding solutions. Architectural support is needed to design best-in-class customer data solutions using enterprise data capabilities.
Support is also required for key customer programmes, including Transcend, Jeremiah, and Digital Platform.
Purpose of the role
To define, direct, and govern the bank’s target data architecture (including shared data environment, data model, and standards) to support business strategy, ensuring data is accurate, secure, and accessible for stakeholders' needs.
Accountabilities
- Developing the bank's data architecture strategy, translating bank-wide goals into a target architecture and transition plan.
- Collaborating with stakeholders such as data operations, engineers, and analysts to promote standardised, consistent, and secure data usage.
- Maintaining data architecture governance, standards, and policies to support data quality and protect sensitive information.
- Aligning projects with the target data architecture through guidance and monitoring.
- Defining shared data capabilities, assets, tools, and technologies for data integration and access.
- Overseeing the overarching data model that structures data within the bank’s physical data resources.
- Monitoring regulatory standards and industry developments impacting operations.
- Assessing and selecting data technologies to ensure compliance with SLAs and quality standards.
