Job description

We are looking for a senior Data Architect to drive data solutions for our global BookData business. You will work with and be responsible for curating the largest English-language bibliographic metadata and book sales measurement data sets in the world.

This is a remote position based in the U.K with occasional travel required to central London.

Responsibilities:
  1. Drive architecture and design decisions for data solutions
  2. Develop big-data solutions that meet both internal and external customer needs
  3. Consider security, accessibility and timeliness of data for different stakeholders
  4. Conduct audits and promote best practices
  5. Work with cross-functional development teams to achieve the best outcomes
  6. Assist others with hands-on development and implementation of solutions
  7. Communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders to describe concepts and solutions
Qualifications

Required skills/experience:

  1. At least 10-15+ years of Data Engineering and Architecture experience
  2. Data Modelling
  3. ETL/ELT solutions
  4. Data pipelines
  5. Data Warehousing design
  6. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex technical data projects
  7. Excellent communication (both written and verbal)
  8. Strong analytical skills and statistical ability
  9. Team leadership
  10. Attention to detail

Desirable:

  1. Technologies: Oracle, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, PowerBI, Tabular Editor, ALM Toolkit, ETL tools, data pipelines
  2. A familiarity with the book industry
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science or related field
