Salary: Circa £48,000 or hourly rate equivalent, depending on experience

Working Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days on-site per week due to workload classification)

Security Clearance: Successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS). Restrictions related to nationality and/or rights to work may apply.

Position Overview:

We are expanding our Occupational Health (OH) team and seeking a temporary Occupational Health Advisor for up to 6 months, with potential part-time options. The role requires a minimum of 3 days on-site (Tuesday-Thursday).

The OH & Wellbeing Team is dedicated to safeguarding employee health and wellbeing, providing comprehensive services through internal and external resources.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to delivering high-quality occupational health services, ensuring compliance with policies and legislative requirements, and adapting to the evolving needs of MBDA UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver proactive health services promoting physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Perform health screening, surveillance, and case management.
  • Build strong relationships across HR, Safety, and the wider business, providing expert guidance in occupational health.
  • Manage projects and work streams, demonstrating excellent organizational and IT skills.
  • Support the development of OH technicians and the wider team.
  • Provide clinical advice for wellbeing strategies and initiatives, including manager training.
  • Conduct wellness medicals for executives and lifestyle assessments for staff, offering health advice.
  • Lead projects and drive service improvements.
  • Prepare case management reports, conduct health surveillance activities, and manage time effectively.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • NMC Registered Nurse (RN Part 1)
  • Extensive experience in delivering occupational health services
  • RN Part 3 – SCPHN (OH) registration is desirable

Experience in pre-placement assessments, health surveillance, case management, lifestyle screening, triage, and query response is essential. The candidate should possess solid clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a broad range of occupational health nursing experience, preferably with SCPHN qualification and significant experience in complex case management. Strong interpersonal skills including motivation, negotiation, relationship building, and influencing are required.
