We are hiring Bridge Engineers in Newcastle-upon-Tyne as part of our team at Amey, a leading provider of infrastructure engineering, operations, and decarbonisation solutions.

The Opportunity

We offer a permanent position for Structural/Bridge Engineers in our Scotland account, with flexible working arrangements including shared office space and remote work. We welcome applicants from the regions of Manchester, Newcastle, and Sheffield.

Amey works on various local, national, and international infrastructure projects for clients such as Transport Scotland, Network Rail, and others. We have secured multiple long-term contracts and are expanding into new markets.

The Role

You will be involved in all project stages, from inception to completion, with responsibilities including design, site visits, supervision, and team mentoring.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in Structural Engineering, ideally at an Assistant Engineer level or similar
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Chartered status or working towards it with ICE, IStructE, or CIHT
• Experience with bridge assessment, design, or management
• Knowledge of relevant standards like Eurocodes and DMRB
• Proficiency in FE analysis software such as Lusas, Atena, or Midas
