Harris Hill is recruiting for a Deputy Head of Finance and Payroll Manager (12 Months Fixed Term, Hybrid)
  • Length of contract: 12-month fixed-term contract
  • Hybrid working: 2 days a week at their offices in Wandsworth, London
  • Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week
  • Salary: £57,000 per annum
The purpose of the payroll role is
  • Lead payroll operations, ensuring accurate monthly payroll delivery and identifying improvements and efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with the HR operations team to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processing.
  • Manage monthly payroll payments, including salaries, deductions, statutory payments, and pension contributions.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, including RTI submissions, PAYE, NICs, and statutory deductions; oversee auto-enrolment processes and liaise with pension providers.
  • Serve as the primary contact for payroll queries, resolve issues efficiently, and liaise with the external payroll bureau.
  • Support the Finance Director in mapping the payroll system and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce risks, and strengthen internal controls.
The purpose of the finance role is
  • Prepare initial management accounts with balance sheet reconciliation and profit and loss data.
  • Maintain the cash flow management.
  • Manage two finance staff, providing supervision, development, and performance appraisal to meet KPIs.
  • Update the forward cash flow projections.
  • Prepare year-end management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Team to produce the year-end statutory accounts.
