Job description

Contract: 12 months fixed-term contract, full time
Location: London (hybrid-working)

About the role

The Senior Commercial Finance Manager will work with various business departments, providing financial information, tools, analysis, and insights to executives. This role involves challenging thinking, supporting decision-making, and driving business strategy. In addition to overseeing the team, the role supports the implementation of Project Governance and provides business partnering support to the Product, Academic, and People teams. The role offers 'real-time' support and analysis, acting as a trusted adviser to add value and facilitate decision-making, leading the Finance Business Partnering function for this area of the organization. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Finance planning and analysis
  2. Financial business partnering
  3. Overheads and cost control
  4. Reporting and compliance
  5. Process and systems improvement
  6. Team management

You will report to the Interim Head of Finance Business Partnering for guidance and daily operations. Key relationships include the Product team, Project Managers, Project Budget Holders, Professional Services, operational teams, and the wider Group Finance team.

About You

  • Fully qualified Accountant - CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Excellent communicator with a proven track record in business partnering
  • Experience leading a team of qualified accountants
  • Confident in advising, challenging, and negotiating with senior stakeholders
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Ability to apply strong commercial principles to analysis and recommendations
  • Knowledge of Sun, particularly Fixed Asset modules (preferable)
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-region organization
  • Commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with attention to detail under pressure
  • Experience with capital projects, accounting standards, and ROI principles
  • Advanced Excel skills
