About the team and the role

As our Head of PR Communications and Social, you will lead our external communications, ensuring our company positions are effectively communicated, and oversee organic social and influencer strategies.

This role covers all aspects of communications from consumer PR, corporate PR, public affairs, internal communications, to organic social. You will manage a team of eight and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organic social strategy: Develop and implement strategies to increase engagement and audience, define KPIs, and align with brand tone and identity.
• Influencers: Redefine influencer strategies, optimize budgets, ensure quality and safety, and coordinate with marketing teams.
• Strategy & advisory: Collaborate on communication strategies and advise leadership.
• Consumer and corporate PR: Lead PR initiatives, media relations, and reputation management.
• Public affairs: Advise on legislation, build industry relationships, and stakeholder engagement.
• Internal Comms: Maintain relationships within Ocado Group and M&S, manage messaging and escalations.

Candidate Profile:

• Experience in retail, preferably grocery/food/drink.
• Proven achievement in communications, PR, and public affairs at senior levels.
• Experience in social media and influencer management.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Self-starter with proactive approach.
• Strong representation and communication skills.
• Ability to interact with legal, finance, and operations teams.
• Knowledge of public policy related to ecommerce, sustainability, or health is a plus.
