Our Client is an International Freight Forwarding company providing logistical solutions for sea, road, and air freight. Due to increased global growth, they are looking to add a Road Freight Planning Clerk to their team in Essex.

The role of Road Freight Planning Clerk includes:

• Working within the CEN export planning department for Italy, Austria, and Switzerland.
• Organizing full load, part load, and groupage transport.
• Finding optimal solutions for cargo combinations, utilizing our client's fleet and the one-way market.
• Operating within our client's pricing framework, using tariffs when needed, and providing customers with SPOT quotes upon request.
• Negotiating haulage prices on the market (via TIMO and other methods), securing the most cost-effective equipment solutions for our client.
• Ensuring timely loading and delivery of customer shipments.
• Providing a high level of service for all shipments handled.
• Addressing operational issues outside standard hours (09:00-17:00), requiring flexibility in the planning role.
• Informing CSU or customers directly about any changes or delays to shipments.
• Creating load orders for hauliers.
• Providing instructions regarding T1 creation.
• Handling other operational administrative tasks, such as requesting and sending CMRs to customers or checking shipment statuses.

Requirements for the role of Road Freight Planning Clerk:

• Good general knowledge of the road freight industry.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Efficiency and attention to detail.
• Administrative abilities (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Financial awareness (revenue, cost, and profit/loss management).
• Excellent communication skills (colleagues, customers, and hauliers).
