Bank Healthcare Assistant (Phlebotomist)

Outpatients Department

As a Bank Healthcare Assistant, you will deliver a high standard of care to our patients. We value all our people and will provide you support and a great place to work.

As a skilled Bank Healthcare Assistant, you will be fully competent in phlebotomy/venepuncture with previous experience within a hospital or outpatient environment. You’ll be able to demonstrate your exceptional communication skills with patients, their families, and members of the multi-disciplinary team.

What you'll do:
  • Participate in delivering a consistent, safe service throughout the patient journey, from greeting and orientation through to discharge, demonstrating a culture of customer service.
  • Provide holistic nursing care interventions as directed, ensuring patients' needs are met, including hygiene, elimination, mobility, and assistance with eating and drinking when required.
  • Provide high-quality physical and psychological care with compassion.
  • Assist with collection and transportation of specimens.
  • Maintain up-to-date care records and observation charts.
  • Enter requests on the computer and assist the receptionist and nursing staff with clerical duties when required.
  • Act as a mentor for new staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Ensure adequate stock levels to allow care to be provided.
What you’ll bring:
  • NVQ Level 2 (Direct Patient Care) or equivalent.
  • Experience on a ward or outpatient department.
