The role involves managing projects within the defence sector, ensuring compliance and effective communication with stakeholders. Candidates should possess a formal Project Management qualification and experience in a regulated environment. We are recruiting 2x Project Managers to join our expanding team based at our offices in Newport, Isle of Wight.
Working as part of the Programmes Team, the Project Manager role will be responsible for the delivery and execution of projects to meet the stringent requirements across a range of defence sector programmes within the UK and internationally. The Project Manager will drive project activity, resource and deliverables whilst ensuring all commercial business needs are met. You will be responsible for being the main point of contact to the customer for the project and coordinate REUK project activities. In addition, the Project Manager will work with the Project Controller and Head of Programmes to ensure full recording and reporting of project data to report into the business on project progress and performance.
Responsibilities and Tasks
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving and ensuring project delivery. The responsibilities and tasks to achieve this will be multifaceted, with key responsibilities including:
Project Planning and Execution:
• Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource requirements to meet project scope.
• Execute projects efficiently, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder Management:
• Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, subcontractors, and cross-functional teams, including internal and external project meetings.
• Maintain effective communication channels to provide regular updates on project progress and address any concerns.
Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with security classifications in alignment with the defence sector's requirements.
Budget and Resource Management:
• Monitor project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and cost-effectiveness.
• Allocate and manage resources effectively to optimize project outcomes.
• Implementation of Earned Value Management throughout the Project Execution Phase
Technical Oversight:
• Collaborate with engineering teams to understand the technical aspects of electronic hardware and software solutions.
• Capture of Technical Queries and facilitate responses from the engineering team.
Compliance:
• Ensure both Programmatic and Technical aspects of the project delivery meet the requirements of the scope of works.
• Ensure projects adhere to all applicable regulations and certifications.
Skills:
• Strong organisational and team management skills whilst being able to work as part of a close team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficient in project management tools and methodologies.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Understanding of technical development processes, including technical Stage Gates.
• Proactive and self-motivated attitude
Qualifications and Experience:
• Formal Project Management Qualification and/or suitable Project experience
• Experience working within a highly regulated and technical sector
• Familiarity with UK defence and procurement processes/standards desirable.
Eligible to obtain and maintain Security Clearance for projects within the UK Defence Sector
The role may also be required to undertake other Project Management activities or any other reasonable task to support REUK business activities.

Full time 37.5 hrs per wk.
