Are you a recent graduate with a passion for the environment? Join us as a Flood Risk Permitting Officer and play a key role in protecting people, wildlife, and our natural world.

About the Role

As part of our Flood Risk Permitting team, you'll assess environmental permit applications for activities near rivers and floodplains, from small local projects to major infrastructure schemes.

  • Use data and evidence to make regulatory decisions
  • Communicate with applicants and provide advice
  • Help protect the environment and reduce flood risks
  • Work with teams across the country and learn from experienced professionals
  • We'll provide all the training you need, you bring the enthusiasm and a relevant degree.

Who We're Looking For?

  • A recent graduate with a degree in an environmental or science-related subject
  • Eager to learn, with strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Able to manage your time effectively and communicate clearly
  • Comfortable using digital tools such as Excel, Word, and online platforms
  • Flexible to attend an EA office at least once a week and travel for training
