A warm and welcoming Specialist school in Maidenhead is looking for a committed Mental Health Assistant to join their team starting in September 2025.

The school:

The successful Mental Health Assistant will join a team that prioritizes ensuring all students are cared for and feel included. You will work in a positive environment with a supportive staff team dedicated to maximizing students' educational experiences.

The role:

The children at this school need support in their daily activities. These students face various learning disabilities, including some with ASD as their main diagnosis. They require a supportive and positive individual to create a safe and engaging environment to enhance their learning.

The school also offers therapy alongside education to support students' growth and skill development.

The successful Mental Health Assistant will have the opportunity to support students on a 1:1 basis, helping them maximize their learning. Support in small group settings may also be required.

You will help children reach their academic and personal goals by encouraging classroom involvement and fostering independence.

Your daily responsibilities will include supporting students and assisting the class teacher, helping to set up lessons, clear up afterwards, and support outdoor activities such as PE or outdoor learning.
