Salary: £36,330 - £39,055

Job description

Salary awarded is based on skills assessment at interview.

This role is available full-time for 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday, or part-time with a minimum coverage of 28 hours per week. Flexible or compressed working hours are available.

This role is office-based.

Responsibilities include: designing, building, and testing electronic circuits and printed circuit boards. You will join a product development team working on hardware products and solutions to enhance security. You will use your technical knowledge to create and maintain electronic hardware for custom-designed security products to meet partner needs both domestically and internationally.

No two days are the same. You might modify existing designs to incorporate new requirements or collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design new products and systems.

You will receive training and support to develop in this role, along with a training budget for external courses. Part of your time will be dedicated to innovation and research.

About You

To qualify, you should have:

  • Experience in designing and testing analogue, digital, and microcontroller-based systems.
  • An understanding of product and system design and development.
  • Relevant work experience or qualifications, such as an HND in electrical/electronic engineering.

Beneficial but not essential qualifications include:

  • Further qualifications in electrical/electronic or mechanical engineering, such as a 2:2 or higher degree.
  • Experience in electronic schematic capture and PCB design.
  • Experience with RF design, EMC, and signal integrity.
  • Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes.

You will be involved in the full product development lifecycle, creating designs and systems while collaborating with partners and engineers. Creativity, willingness to learn, and determination are essential.

Your tasks will include:

  • Designing, developing, and documenting electronic PCB systems.
  • Verifying designs through tests and peer reviews.
  • Supporting products and investigating defects.
  • Contributing to library parts creation and project planning.
