Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Corporate Support Manager for an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension, at a rate of £225-£250/day (Inside IR35). The role supports hybrid working, but regular attendance at the Edinburgh office is required.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor FOI and EIR requests, liaising with staff to ensure timely information provision.
- Oversee redaction processes for sensitive information, ensuring GDPR, FOI, and EIR compliance, and advise on exemptions and public interest tests.
- Draft and coordinate responses to FOIs/EIRs, meeting legislative requirements and deadlines.
- Issue and record acknowledgment letters for requests.
- Provide oversight and strategic guidance on staff contributions to casework, ensuring follow-ups and accountability.
- Establish best practices for workflow monitoring, collaboration, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor FOI request and corporate mailboxes.
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of responding to FOI and EIR requests.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support decision-making.
- Proactively identify gaps and develop solutions.
- Organize and prioritize workloads efficiently.
- Use case management systems or planning tools effectively.
- Manage document redaction ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
- Manage and mentor staff.
- Experience working within a public sector corporate or policy team.
- Respond to ministerial correspondence and complaints.
- Familiarity with GDPR and data protection principles.
- Coordinate responses to complex complaints, understanding SPSO legislative requirements and public sector complaint procedures.
