Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Corporate Support Manager for an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension, at a rate of £225-£250/day (Inside IR35). The role supports hybrid working, but regular attendance at the Edinburgh office is required.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and monitor FOI and EIR requests, liaising with staff to ensure timely information provision.
  2. Oversee redaction processes for sensitive information, ensuring GDPR, FOI, and EIR compliance, and advise on exemptions and public interest tests.
  3. Draft and coordinate responses to FOIs/EIRs, meeting legislative requirements and deadlines.
  4. Issue and record acknowledgment letters for requests.
  5. Provide oversight and strategic guidance on staff contributions to casework, ensuring follow-ups and accountability.
  6. Establish best practices for workflow monitoring, collaboration, and operational efficiency.
  7. Monitor FOI request and corporate mailboxes.
  8. Demonstrate excellent knowledge of responding to FOI and EIR requests.
  9. Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support decision-making.
  10. Proactively identify gaps and develop solutions.
  11. Organize and prioritize workloads efficiently.
  12. Use case management systems or planning tools effectively.
  13. Manage document redaction ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
  14. Manage and mentor staff.
  15. Experience working within a public sector corporate or policy team.
  16. Respond to ministerial correspondence and complaints.
  17. Familiarity with GDPR and data protection principles.
  18. Coordinate responses to complex complaints, understanding SPSO legislative requirements and public sector complaint procedures.
