Job description

We’re looking for a Transport Planner to join our team on our Waitrose contract in Brinklow, Milton Keynes. You’ll be responsible for route planning using Paragon, along with developing & managing real relationships with customers and drivers. You’ll ensure that our transport department always runs in an efficient and effective manner. You’ll work on a Monday – Friday basis, rotating over 5am till 1pm and 9am to 5pm. We ask for some flexibility as there maybe the occasional weekend work during peak times… this is logistics after all!

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer a salary of £29,197 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Manage the day-to-day transport operation including briefing and debriefing drivers, monitoring driver’s hours and ensuring legal compliance is maintained
  • Manage the service and maintenance requirements for our fleet
  • Deal with customer issues and monitor drivers daily progress, updating the customers as required

What you need to succeed at GXO

  • Experience of working in a transport environment performing route planning
  • Knowledge of transport legislation, driver hours and tachograph, use of Paragon is essential.
  • Computer literate (strong excel, word & e-mail)
  • Excellent people skills – team player
  • Strong communicator both written and verbal with attention to detail
