Searcys has an exciting new venue opening in one of London's most iconic, historic spaces this year, and we are looking for a Barista to join our team.

As a Barista at Searcys, you will support the Cafe Manager in the daily operations of the venue, deliver excellent service to our guests, and take ownership of the coffee bar independently.

The role is based in the newly refurbished Sainsbury's wing at The National Gallery. Searcys is proud to collaborate with the world-famous, Michelin-starred Chef Giorgio Locatelli on this project.

Job Description

The Barista will oversee the bar area, support the team to deliver exceptional service, and maintain high standards of drinks and service while driving sales through upselling and encouraging repeat visits.

Salary: £13.80 per hour

Working 5 days over 7; gallery hours are 10-6, except Fridays which are 10-9.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and other drinks.
• Operate coffee machines and grinders proficiently.
• Set up the coffee bar and stock fridges with purchased products.
• Take payments accurately.
• Manage stock rotation, conduct temperature checks, and handle allergen management.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment and display cases.
• Follow health and safety guidelines, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in coffee preparation and customer service.
• Knowledge of food safety standards.
• Ability to perform food prep tasks efficiently.
• Basic math skills for transactions and inventory management.
• Excellent time management skills for timely service.
