Job description

We are recruiting for a PMO for a leading Aerospace organisation based onsite in Broughton.

An exciting opportunity exists to join our manufacturing engineering department. The successful candidate will be motivated and passionate about maximising and driving best practice Project Management governance, methods, and tools across manufacturing engineering.

As a Project Management Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and monitoring of projects across the organisation. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of project management principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The primary focus will be within the wide-body manufacturing engineering area. Main activities will include:

  1. Ensuring projects are supported with strong Project Management expertise and that appropriate Project & Programme Management structure, governance, and practices are in place.
  2. Working with manufacturing project leaders and the project organisation on a day-to-day basis.
  3. Raising understanding and acceptance of best practice project management within the ME teams by coaching and providing awareness sessions, challenging project leaders where necessary.
  4. Shaping methods and tools in accordance with PM standards to suit the needs of the project.
  5. Supporting efficient communication and stakeholder management, ensuring activities are aligned with interfacing projects and operations.
  6. Promoting Agile Ways of Working (WoW) and acting as Scrum Master for project activities where applicable.
  7. Establishing end-to-end (E2E) project plans and controlling all changes versus the initial baseline. Identifying associated Earned Value Management (EVM) milestones and project critical points.
  8. Tracking performance versus plan throughout the project lifecycle. Analysing project information to anticipate deviations and proposing preventive or corrective actions. Providing clear and regular reports throughout all project phases.
  9. Driving the Risk & Opportunity Management process in line with the existing R&O process. Owning the associated R&O register and regularly updating the Project Leader.
  10. Collaborating with Finance to compare incurred costs and time spent against progress achieved, based on current planning.
  11. Preparing and publishing reports as required. Defining and delivering relevant KPIs and dashboards for effective performance monitoring.
  12. Contributing to team reviews and preparing/supporting project management reviews (PRMs, operational meetings, etc.).
