Building a sustainable tomorrow BAM Nuttall is currently involved in a major energy project in the South West (Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater in Somerset), delivering reinforced concrete, bulk earthworks, infrastructure, and building on one of the UK’s largest projects. We require a Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience in building, MEP, Marine, or Civil engineering.

Your mission

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

1. Reporting to the Commercial Manager
2. Liaising with the operations team and support services
3. Managing a commercial team of varying levels across multiple schemes
4. Overseeing commercial project management on multiple schemes, including ensuring timely provision of:

• Monthly cost value reconciliations
• Cashflow monitoring
• Monthly and quarterly forecasts
• Monthly application for payment
• Change management

Managing and mentoring members of the commercial team as required

Participating in discussions concerning project performance and providing commercial input to project strategy

Working with clients and stakeholders to achieve optimum commercial solutions

Ensuring compliance with project and company commercial procedures, including procurement and subcontract management

Providing commercial input into the pre-construction/tender phase of projects

Managing ECI/portfolio of ECI projects from a commercial perspective, including reviewing contract documents

Who are we looking for?

Necessary:

• Previous experience managing a team (ideally across multiple projects)
• Experience on civil engineering schemes
• Experience with NEC form of Contract
• Thorough understanding of contractual provisions, with the ability to comment, review, and draft documents
• Relevant qualification: Degree; HNC/D

Advantageous:

• Early Contractor Involvement experience
• Experience with target cost contracts
• Good client-facing collaborative attitude
• Good communication skills
• Relevant professional qualification (CICES/RICS)
