A Kent-based Medical Device company is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their design team and take ownership of new product development.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Due to the small team working on multiple projects, the successful candidate will be a self-starter willing to go beyond the job description to successfully deliver projects. The company is looking for someone who can take ownership of the design engineering process, balancing aesthetics and functionality of product design.

Skills overview:

• 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficient in SolidWorks
• Formal development experience in Medical Devices or equivalent (ISO 9001 / ISO 13485)
• Experience in both functional and aesthetic design
• Hand calculations
• FEA (Finite Element Analysis)

The company also uses Duro PLM and Cognidox; experience with these software tools is beneficial.
