Job Opportunity: Coffee Shop Manager at Costa Coffee, QE Hospital

This is an exciting opportunity to manage a new Costa Coffee opening in the Atrium of QE Hospital, launching in August. As ISS’s first fully franchised Costa Coffee, the focus is on delivering exceptional standards and genuine hospitality in a hospital setting.

Role Description

This coffee shop provides a moment of comfort for visitors, a break for staff, and a sense of normality during challenging days. We seek a Coffee Shop Manager who understands the emotional impact of heartfelt service and is passionate about creating a welcoming environment that offers a meaningful experience for every customer.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and support retail and patient catering teams, ensuring safe and effective service in line with company policies.
2. Oversee all catering and retail operations across the hospital site.
3. Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal teams, Trust contacts, and external partners.
4. Set and manage objectives aligned with contract goals to enhance service performance.
5. Develop catering offers collaboratively with ISS subject matter experts.
6. Ensure compliance with Hospital Food Review (2021) guidance and food safety standards.
7. Maintain a safe, hygienic environment adhering to food safety and health regulations.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Semi-senior experience in a Costa store, with knowledge of brand standards.
• Proven ability to manage large teams effectively.
• Experience overseeing retail operations exceeding £35K.
• Strong understanding of food safety standards and compliance.
• Ability to maintain brand consistency and operational excellence.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Capability to drive performance and uphold service quality.
