We’re looking for a compliance officer to join the team at Miller Insurance Services LLP, to provide a prompt, accurate, and effective compliance service and to promote and develop the compliance culture across the group.
Role Responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery of Miller’s compliance monitoring plan, and ensure regular compliance monitoring reviews are conducted on time.
- Support the Compliance Officer in undertaking and coordinating compliance monitoring activities across Miller, its subsidiaries, and Appointed Representatives.
- Assess the quality of first line of defence file reviews by undertaking sample second line of defence file reviews.
- Develop and review management information feeds and dashboards to assess trends in regulatory performance and risk profiles across Miller.
- Conduct in-depth investigations to identify key issues and root causes.
- Produce regular compliance monitoring reports and dashboards in a timely manner, providing Senior Management and the Compliance Committee with insights into regulatory performance and risks.
- Recommend actions to Senior Management and track their completion.
- Collaborate with business units to understand their regulatory risk profiles.
- Stay updated on regulatory and legislative changes and incorporate them into Miller’s compliance framework.
- Contribute to wider compliance projects and process improvements.
- Adhere to Miller’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including FCA rules and Lloyd’s byelaws.
- Perform delegated responsibilities and promote Miller’s brand and values.
Qualifications
- GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent).
- CII qualifications are desirable but not essential.
Knowledge
An understanding of the insurance industry, insurance broking, and the regulatory environment within which Miller operates.
Experience
- Experience in a financial services compliance monitoring or internal audit role.
- Experience in insurance broking is desirable.
- Strong report writing skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
