Job description

This is an exciting expatriate opportunity to work on an international construction project in Africa. Please note that applicants will be required to obtain UK standard baseline security clearance to secure the role.

Salary:

£75,000 - £80,000 (gross) per annum

Task Descriptions:

1. Responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, staff, and supply chain within their control under the strict observance of the G3 Systems Safety policy.
2. Ensure subcontractors plan, operate, and deliver the contract according to their scope of works and the project schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager.
3. Verify that subcontractors deliver in accordance with the approved design and quality standards.
4. Manage the site diary following company best practices.
5. Provide weekly reports to the Project Manager as per the contract requirements.
6. Ensure site activities comply with UK health and safety standards and that standards are agreed upon at project outset.
7. Implement and manage a site induction process.
8. Develop and deliver toolbox talks.
9. Manage site access restrictions and equipment usage procedures.
10. Oversee waste management and permits to work on site.
11. Drive continuous safety improvements.
12. Ensure the successful safe completion of the project, including quality, schedule, procurement, and client interface, leading by example and reporting to the Project Manager.
13. Encourage and coach team members to develop their skills, provide regular feedback, and create challenging learning opportunities.
14. Motivate and engage employees to deliver project objectives.
15. Develop detailed plans aligned with the overall project plan for material procurement and scheduling.
16. Participate in site meetings, progress reviews, safety meetings, and stakeholder engagements.
17. Report and highlight variations to the contract.
18. Serve as the point of contact for site security and welfare.

Qualifications Required:

1. Valid First Aid at Work Certificate.
2. NVQ Level 3-4 BTEC diploma in Building Construction or similar qualification.
3. Valid Scaffold Inspection certificate.
4. Valid LOLER certificate.
5. SMSTS certification.

Skills / Experience Required:

1. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
2. Experience managing all aspects of the build process.
3. Good working knowledge of NEC Contracts.
4. Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety obligations and building legislation.
5. Understanding of the considerate contractor's requirements to achieve high sustainability scores.
