Senior Assessment and Development Consultant

Base Salary £38-£40k plus 10-15% bonus

The Assessment & Development team are an integral part of the Solutions and Advisory offering. Our main objective is to deliver high quality solutions for our clients that support them in making great decisions. Our work is varied, from designing high volume apprentice selection processes, to helping clients assess for their next Chief Executive. We have a particular focus on leadership level work, and would welcome individuals who share this interest.

As part of ongoing team expansion, we’re looking for a credible, collaborative consultant to help us deliver to our clients, bring new ideas and help us drive continuous improvement. This role will be a flexible blend of remote and office-based working, with monthly Solutions team meetings taking place in-person in our London Cheapside office.

Key Result Areas: Skills and Competencies

  • Lead on the design and delivery of client assessment and development work
  • Manage the design and delivery of medium-size client projects including project planning, working in partnership with clients to build long-lasting, trusted relationships.
  • Conduct leadership personality profiling up to executive/c-suite level and write up in-depth reports for clients, providing expert interpretation and feedback to candidates.
  • Design and deliver face-to-face and virtual assessment centres e.g. role plays, presentations, panel exercises, interviews etc.
  • Quality Assure assessment projects to ensure operational standards for excellence are achieved
  • Drive the development of new products and services
  • Provide guidance and upskilling to internal stakeholders on assessment and recruitment best practice solutions.
  • Cross-collaborate with other service lines at Hays such as DE&I subject matter experts, Early Careers specialists, Career Transition Services, RPO, MSP and specialist recruiters, to develop and deliver joined up talent solutions.
  • Take a leading role in broader Solutions team initiatives, such as product development, charity initiatives, and team development

Knowledge, qualifications and experience

  • MSc. Occupational Psychology or comparable experience
  • Experience leading on the design and delivery of assessment and/or development solutions (it’s not essential to have both)
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders
  • Occupational test user – experience in administering and feeding back psychometric assessments would be ideal but not essential (e.g. Saville Wave, Hogan suite) . We will provide training for this if needed.
  • Experience facilitating and assessing at assessment / development centres
  • Experience delivering solutions at leadership level
