About the role

As a Capability Partner, you'll be collaborating with senior customers to define the strategic direction for functional learning. Your role involves identifying current and future capability needs, aligning with the Group Tesco Capability strategy, and working closely with the Capability Design team and Tesco Business Services (TBS) to shape and influence capability development within your business area. Your approach should be visible, adaptable, and influential, fostering positive relationships across the organization.

You will be responsible for
  • Partnering with senior team members to influence and develop strategic direction for functional learning from a Group perspective.
  • Leading data-driven learning needs analysis to develop prioritized, market-focused capability plans.
  • Line managing a small remote team and collaborating with fellow Capability Partners to ensure a comprehensive view of market needs and consistent learning approaches.
  • Partnering with HR and Talent teams to align the colleague experience.
  • Championing the core learning offer for colleagues, managers, and leaders, influencing adoption and ensuring a high-quality learning experience.
  • Owning safe and legal training content specific to your market, working with TBS to ensure compliance.
  • Following governance processes, prioritizing work in line with Group Capability plans, and managing budgets responsibly.
  • Innovating with outside-in thinking and ensuring learner experience is central to all initiatives.
  • Leading the market capability strategy, including Learning Tech and content governance, to ensure efficiency and consistency.
  • Promoting our Win Together behaviours and contributing to cultural change across Tesco.
You will need
  • To set and gain engagement for group-wide capability strategies.
  • To build strategic relationships with diverse international team members.
  • Knowledge of current learning trends and how people learn.
  • Strong prioritization skills, driven by data, commercial foresight, and expertise.
  • Understanding of diversity and inclusion challenges and opportunities.
  • Proven experience with learning interventions and providers.
  • A strong network of learning specialists for external standards and processes.
