Your responsibilities include identifying current and future capability needs, contributing to the Group Tesco Capability strategy alongside other Capability Partners.

You will work closely with the Capability Design team and Tesco Business Services (TBS) to shape, influence, and own capability development for your specific business area. Your approach should be visible, adaptable, and influential, fostering positive relationships across the organization.
You will be responsible for:

  1. Partnering with senior team members (WL5) to influence and develop strategic direction for functional learning from both the 'what' and 'how' perspectives, aligned with Group goals.
  2. Leading data-driven learning needs analysis to develop and deliver prioritized, market-focused capability plans that ensure the right skills and behaviors to meet strategic priorities.
  3. Managing a small, remotely based team and collaborating with fellow Capability Partners to ensure a comprehensive understanding of market needs within functional plans. Driving value through business-wide learning offerings to ensure consistency across all products and platforms.
  4. Partnering with People Business Partners, Talent Partners, and other teams to align the colleague experience end-to-end.
  5. Championing the core learning offerings for colleagues, managers, and leaders, influencing business adoption, and ensuring a seamless learning experience across functions.
  6. Owning safe and legal training specific to your market, working with TBS to develop compliant content.
  7. Following governance processes, prioritizing work in line with Group Capability plans, and managing budgets responsibly.
  8. Applying outside-in thinking and focusing on enhancing the learner experience.
  9. Leading the market capability strategy, including Learning Tech (Content Libraries) and governance, to reduce redundancy and promote learner consistency.
  10. Role modeling Tesco’s Win Together behaviors and contributing to a culture of learning and change.

Requirements
• Ability to set and gain engagement for group-wide capability strategies.
• Strong experience in senior stakeholder engagement and influencing, including building strategic relationships internationally.

• Ability to prioritize effectively, driven by data, commercial insight, and subject matter expertise.
• Understanding of diversity and inclusion challenges and opportunities.
• Proven experience with learning interventions and providers.
• Extensive network of learning specialists and external partners.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
• Up to 20% annual bonus
• Holiday entitlement starting at 25 days plus a personal day and bank holidays
• Private medical insurance
• 26 weeks maternity and adoption leave (after 1 year of service) at full pay, followed by statutory leave
