Job Description
What will you be doing?

We're seeking a talented individual to join our team in Birmingham, primarily responsible for preparing annual financial accounts within the timeframe agreed with the client or required by statute. The role also involves accurate processing of clients' financial data, preparing monthly/quarterly management accounts, and undertaking VAT returns and compliance tasks.

Support for AAT/ACCA qualifications may be available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare annual financial statements, including statutory, partnership, sole trader, and trust accounts for tax purposes.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients.
  • Visit client premises to undertake on-site accounting needs as required.
  • Input client transactions into computerised ledger systems as required.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts for clients as needed.
  • Prepare VAT returns, Intrastat, and ECC sales lists based on financial data provided by clients.
  • Handle VAT services such as registration, deregistration, and options to tax as required.
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should be:

  • Studying towards ACCA/ACA/AAT or have relevant work experience.
  • Knowledgeable about FRS102, FRS 102 1a, and FRS105 standards.
  • Experienced with computerised accounting packages, including cloud-based software.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledgeable of accounting standards.
