Job description

As a Data Analyst, you will be part of the Gain Theory Data Practice and will be embedded in one of Gain Theory’s client-based squads. Working with your manager, you will engage with top brands worldwide, handling data from media, client-specific sources, Gain Theory internal data, sales, and more. You will collaborate with your team to process and organize data for modeling, with opportunities to innovate and automate processes.

The Data Analyst is expected to utilize data processing techniques including SQL and ETL to manage data. They will also use internal data automation tools to ensure effective execution of data pipelines that clean and transform data. Running robust data QA processes is essential, as data quality is vital to our work. Additionally, the Data Analyst will coordinate with the Data Manager and client and agency contacts to ensure a continuous flow of data from relevant sources. The role also involves interaction with the broader data community within Gain Theory, especially with the Data Centre of Excellence (DCOE) to share best practices and support each other.

Our teams integrate cutting-edge data engineering, advanced analytics, unified measurement products, and scalable engineering to develop products that will influence the future of data-informed decision-making. We prioritize consumer privacy, client confidentiality, brand growth, and user experience.

Qualifications
  • 1-2+ years experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, Information Science, Business Intelligence, or a related field
  • Proficiency with data handling, including working with diverse datasets from multiple sources, and familiarity with data processing tools/concepts like SQL, NoSQL, and ETL; experience with robust QA processes
  • Experience within the advertising ecosystem (e.g., ad trafficking, ad servers, DSPs, media strategy and activation) and understanding of relevant metrics and reporting
  • Required skills: SQL, ETL, Cloud Computing/Storage (Azure or AWS)
  • Nice-to-have skills: Snowflake, Python, GIT
  • Experience with DBT is a plus but not essential
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, managing timelines and risks, and overseeing multiple projects
  • Organized, detail-oriented, QA-focused
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation
  • Proficiency in English
