Operations and Maintenance Engineer Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

Everyday activities like making calls, browsing the internet, traveling, or dialing emergency services are supported by Telent's technology. We are recruiting an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, performing maintenance and commissioning within your designated area, including major motorways such as M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, and A1(M).

Do you enjoy working with a supportive team and using your initiative to solve field problems? Our engineers are vital to our contracts, handling maintenance, installation, cabling, or civils works, helping keep the nation's infrastructure connected and secure 24/7.

What you’ll do:

• Attend to cable breaks and repair copper and fibre cables to maintain network operation.
• Complete equipment commissioning to standards, on time and within budget.
• Address equipment issues in Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets, day or night.
• Perform general maintenance and testing on fibre and copper equipment.
• Complete required documentation promptly.

Who you are:

You should have prior experience in a similar role, with familiarity in fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments.

Key Requirements:

• Experience with motorway communications or similar systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunications networks, copper jointing, and fibre splicing/testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
• Availability for overtime or callouts as needed.
• Full UK driving license.
