NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a permanent, full-time Band B8d Psychology Professional Lead for Specialist Services. The role involves leadership over various adult mental health services, providing clinical guidance, and contributing to workforce development. Applicants must be HCPC-registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologists with significant experience in secondary care.

We are seeking a permanent, full-time Band B8d Psychology Professional Lead for Specialist Services in NHS GG&C, with part-time hours considered. The role encompasses leadership over adult mental health services such as the Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (Esteem), the Adult Eating Disorder Service (AEDS), Perinatal Mental Health, Psychiatric Liaison, and Unscheduled Care. As services evolve, additional teams may be included.
The successful candidate will provide professional and clinical leadership to Practitioner Psychologists and Psychological Therapists, oversee PT governance infrastructure, and be supported by Consultant Clinical Psychologists/Leads with specialized expertise. They will be a key member of the Specialist Services Senior Management Team, offering psychological and workforce advice, and maintaining staff wellbeing. The role includes clinical sessions, negotiable in location within Specialist Services.
Applicants must be HCPC-registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologists with extensive experience as a Consultant in secondary care adult mental health. Proven leadership in service development and delivery is essential; operational line management experience is desirable.
The post reports to the Head of Service for Specialist Services, with professional leadership from the Psychology Professional Lead for NHS GG&C. The postholder will join the Psychology Professional Leads Group, contributing to workforce development and clinical placements.
