Job description

Employer heading
Band 4

Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) is one of the largest community healthcare organisations in London and Hertfordshire, providing services to diverse communities across 11 London Boroughs—Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hounslow, Kensington and Chelsea, Merton, Richmond, Wandsworth, Westminster—and Hertfordshire.

Rated Good by the Care Quality Commission and ranked among top NHS employers, our focus and passion lie in community healthcare. We champion the role of community health professionals to ensure patients receive excellent care closer to home.

Job overview

The Barnet Special School Nursing team seeks a flexible, motivated, and highly skilled healthcare assistant to support children and young people with health needs in attending school and reaching their potential.

Based in Oakleigh School and Maple Down, we also provide outreach services to Oak Lodge and Northway. Travel between sites may be required for tasks such as heights and weights, so excellent service delivery to pupils and professional partners is essential.

Working in special schools is highly rewarding. Our small, friendly team looks forward to welcoming you.

To arrange an informal visit, please contact Katie Gallagher-Moran (Team Lead) at Tel 02084554111 Ext 6 or via email.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have experience working with children with complex healthcare and additional needs. You should demonstrate a commitment to professional development, flexibility to meet service needs, and the ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously, as you may be the sole nursing team member on site at times.

Your responsibilities include supporting registered nurses, carrying out heights and weights, completing continence assessments, liaising with various agencies, supporting training for Learning Support Assistants/Teaching Assistants, and administering medications in accordance with CLCH policies. You will also participate in developing and implementing evidence-based practice within the team to support children’s attendance and achievement in school.

The team offers support and training to help you develop in your role.

Interviews are scheduled for 22nd April 2025.
