Job description

JOB PURPOSE

To repair refrigeration and HVAC mechanical and electrical systems throughout retail locations to support operations and minimize product loss, while ensuring partner satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain refrigeration and HVAC for a group of retail locations.
2. Repair equipment such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient, and timely manner that exceeds customers' expectations.
3. Establish effective regular communication with Site Management to keep them informed of all ongoing maintenance activities.
4. Liaise with Site Management to communicate planned maintenance, diagnose equipment malfunctions, and address operating deficiencies to ensure quality work.
5. Provide timely updates on all job activities.
6. Proactively check and repair refrigerant leaks.
7. Maintain all assets under your responsibility to high standards.
8. Perform scheduled refrigeration/HVAC preventive maintenance checks.
9. Monitor and log refrigerant usage in assigned stores.
10. Maintain clean and safe conditions in machinery and electrical rooms.
11. Coordinate with store personnel to maintain product integrity.
12. Participate in the company's after-hours emergency call program.
13. Assist in troubleshooting problems.
14. Complete equipment inventories as assigned.
15. Perform other related duties as required.
16. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with rack systems, display cases, and walk-ins preferred.
• Journeyman qualification in refrigeration and HVAC or equivalent experience.
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling (Class I & II or universal).
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. or the ability to obtain it.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
• Knowledge of supermarket rack refrigeration, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including Refrigeration Controller Technology, Outlook, and Excel.
• Self-motivated with proven experience in previous roles.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask, work independently, and make quick, sound decisions.
• Excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills.
• High integrity and reliability.
