Summary

As the Global Direct Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the Group's direct tax compliance, planning, and reporting activities across all regions: Americas, EMEA, and APAC. Reporting to the Group Tax Director, you will ensure adherence to local and international tax laws, support tax risk management, and contribute to the company's strategic goals, including energy transition initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Tax Compliance:
    • Ensure timely and accurate corporate income tax compliance and filings across all regions.
    • Coordinate with local finance teams and external advisors to manage tax audits and inquiries.
  • Tax Planning & Strategy:
    • Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies to minimize the Group's effective tax rate.
    • Support M&A activities, including tax due diligence and post-merger integration.
  • Tax Accounting and Reporting:
    • Lead the preparation of tax provisions for financial reporting (IFRS/local GAAP).
    • Monitor and analyze tax positions, ensuring alignment with global tax policies.
    • Support the transition from SAP Magnitude (BFC) consolidation tool to Oracle (FCCS) and the implementation of the Oracle tax module.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and mitigate direct tax risks in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the Group.Provide tax guidance and/or information support to various internal departments, coordinating & assisting Calderys entities, primarily across the EMEA and APAC regions to ensure compliance with corporate tax & IFRS income tax reporting requirements
    • Conduct tax trainings to share updates and good practices

Requirements

  • Certified Public Accountant with solid tax background or Master Degree in business and tax law with solid accounting background. An additional degree such as MBA Finance or business school education is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and French. Another language such as Chinese, German, Italian or Spanish is a plus.
  • Agility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and presentation skills.
  • Minimum 10 years post qualification work experience in corporate tax, with Big Four, law firm and/or multinational group.
  • International experience is a plus.
