Position: Activities Worker (Full-Time)

Requirements:

  • Previous activities worker experience is essential, particularly working with non-verbal, wheelchair users with complex needs.
  • You must be a driver and flexible, as weekend and evening work may be required with notice.

Compensation:

  • Night enhancement of £1.50/hour from 8pm to 7am, Monday to Sunday (excluding sleep-ins).
  • Weekend day enhancement of £2.00/hour from 7am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday.

Location:

Our service is located in Staplehurst, Kent, a rural village where we involve service users in local community activities using local resources.

About the Role

You will deliver engaging social and recreational activities, organize outings and events, and bring creativity and variety to improve the lives of people with disabilities.

Activities may include organizing large-scale social events, finding common interests in small groups, or facilitating baking sessions—creativity is key!

About You

No prior experience in activity work is required, but artistic flair, organizational skills, or an interest in social activities is essential. Experience working with people with disabilities is advantageous.

To be successful, you will:

  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Work flexibly and creatively with customers and their families.
  • Possibly have personal care experience (not essential).
  • Be able to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Be flexible to work within rostered hours and participate in an on-call rota if required.
