Vehicle Damage Assessor - Sunderland


Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per year

Bonus: Performance-based bonus potential


Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm (1 hour unpaid break)

Are you an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join our team at a busy, reputable vehicle repair site in Sunderland.

As a Vehicle Damage Assessor, you’ll play a key role in the repair journey—working closely with the production team to ensure accurate assessments, exceptional customer service, and efficient repair processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare computerised estimates using Audatex

Communicate with customers to provide updates and estimated completion times

Compile relevant documentation to support the repair process

Accurately record all estimate and repair data in the management system

Monitor vehicle progress through the workshop to ensure timely repairs

Negotiate repair estimates with insurance engineers when necessary

Liaise with insurance representatives regarding claims and estimates

Identify opportunities for additional non-insurance repair work

Conduct mobile and drive-by assessments where required

Maintain and secure allocated tools and equipment

Provide support to colleagues when needed to ensure smooth operation

About You:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

Proven experience in vehicle damage assessment and estimating

Proficiency with Audatex estimating software

Strong communication and negotiation skills

A customer-focused mindset and attention to detail

Full UK driving licence
