Job description

Murphy is recruiting for a Design Coordinator to work with Natural Resources based out of Stone Cross (Wigan - WA3 3JD) with travel to sites across the North East and Central belt of Scotland.

We maintain, operate, modify, design, construct, and commission new energy networks and facilities across four countries; guiding our customers through the challenges of the energy transition and supporting their commitments to achieve net zero emissions. We provide safe and reliable specialist services as a trusted Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Maintenance, and Decommissioning (EPFCM&D) partner. This includes work with onshore and offshore oil, gas pipelines, gas diversions, and renewable energies.

A day in the life of a Murphy Design Coordinator
  1. Assist the Design Manager to deliver high-quality designs to budget and programme.
  2. Prepare briefs/remits for design packages and for site investigation and survey packages.
  3. Build good working relationships with external and internal design and construction teams to deliver integrated designs which are buildable and maintainable.
  4. Review submissions for quality and compliance with design standards.
  5. Update design trackers regularly.
  6. Produce minutes and schedules for Design Review Meetings.
  7. Assist the wider engineering team with engineering input as required.
  8. Communicate engineering ideas through sketching and drawing by hand and using CAD software.
  9. Manage several small projects or large multi-disciplinary projects.
  10. Possess engineering design capability for submission review and checking.
